Symposium Learning Objectives

  • Understand at a neurological level the difference between multi sensory integration in children with Sensory Processing Disorder and typically developing children
  • Understand how to design sensory integration intervention at school
  • How to differentiate parasympathetic function in the subtypes of Sensory Processing Disorder
  • How to implement intervention for adults with Sensory Processing Disorder
  • How to identify psychophysiological features that differentiate ADHD from Sensory Processing Disorder
  • How to identify sensory strategies that are effective with toddlers and preschoolers

Institute Learning Objectives

  • How to use a variety of new evaluation tools for children: birth to 19 years old
  • How to measure functional performance at school and the clinic and obtain standardized scores as well as clinical ratings
  • Understand the revisions in the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test and the new praxis screening test.

Continuing Education Credit

SPD Foundation is an AOTA Approved Provider of Continuing Education. Symposium participants will receive a certificate of attendance for 12.5 contact hours and 1.25 CEU's. Institute participants will receive a certificate of attendance for 6 contact hours and .6 CEU's. AOTA does not endorse specific course content, products, or clinical procedures.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations received in writing by October 3, 2008 will be refunded minus a $50 processing fee. No refunds will be given for cancellations received after October 3, 2008. Substitutions will be permitted as long as written request is received by October 23, 2008. No substitutions will be permitted after October 23, 2008.
