The researchers examined motion sensitivity in a sample of individuals with autism and normal intelligence. A variety of tasks were completed and the researchers found that for simple motion sensitivity tasks, the subjects performed similarly to controls. However, with more complex tasks, motion sensitivity is significantly decreased as compared to controls. The researchers believe that their findings may reflect less efficient integration of visual-perceptual processing in autism.
